
Marine monitoring agencies co-operate in SeaNet - the European workshop on fixed monitoring networks in the North Sea region.
Six monitoring agencies and four companies from the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Norway and Sweden decided to execute the SeaNet Data Interface project (SNDI) to define, develop and implement a data interface to facilitate the adequate data exchange between the fixed national monitoring networks

The six agencies and four companies participate in the project as equal partners. The tasks are divided between the partners in accordance with their involvement, responsibilities, expertise and function with respect to the current marine monitoring networks in the North Sea region and the SeaNet Data Interface to be realised. The SNDI project is executed within the frame of the Marine Science and Technology Programme of the fourth RTD framework programme of the European Commission. The project started September 1998 and will be finished in the first half of 2001.
